I am depressed at how nobody even considers doing anything without their kids.

My ex certainly didn't. Note the ex.

I read this in a John Rosemond column back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and people read .... newspapers....(I know, I know. Bear with me)

He said the focal point of a marriage needs to be:

1. Self. Can't be a good spouse if we are miserable.

2. Spouse. Can't be a good parent in an unhappy marriage.

3. Child. Kids will be a lot happier with functioning parents.

We of course have turned this upside down and the child is indeed the center of the universe....

Maybe Ol' John was on to something....
