“Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariably they are both disappointed.” Albert Einstein
I was married for 22.5 years. About 15 really good ones. As our kids got older my wife just lost her mind. Especially about expectations for the kids. And it was her way or.... well, you know.
I am a high school teacher and know that kids will inevitably fail. They will fall down and they need to be able to get themselves up.
I think a lot of the problems couples have are variations of mine.
I am totally on board with splitting chores, household duties and the like.
And it is total bologna to not pick up your stuff, clean up after yourself and kids.
Be an adult. Both of you.
