Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public... Other countries, France in particular, produce movies with strong, realistic female leads.

I do not think it is Hollywood's job to make females feel good. (I know I'll get killed for this.... hear me out) All they are trying to accomplish is selling as many tickets as possible. Hollywood likes to think it is progressive/sensitive. Pure BS. The fact that Harvey Weinsten did what he did for soooooo long tells us all we need to know.

So why don't women produce more movies? I ask this not in a snarky way (my wife and I have this discussion frequently) but in a "how can this problem really be made better? way"
