I spent 25 years as a HS varsity girls coach. (Excellent form on that jumper, btw. Nobody leads a conference in scoring without a TON of work) I had lots of kids who were like you. I love your reaction to your dad's comment.

I had some pretty good teams but my teams really took off when I started posting how many position shots and FTs each player made. I did not say a word about it. I just posted it.

They never said it but they were blooddthirsty competitors and they did what all coaches want: They pushed each other more than I ever could.

Like you did. You decided to make yourself an excellent player. And you did.
